Adaeze sat on the rooftop, staring at the full moon. The cool breeze brushed against her skin, but it wasn’t the night air that sent shivers down her spine—it was Emeka’s presence beside her.

“I have something to tell you,” he said, his voice soft.

She turned to him, her heart pounding. “What is it?”

He hesitated, then took her hand. “I’ve loved you since we were kids, but I was always too scared to say it.”
