1. John Edward Jones lost his life after being trapped inside the Nutty Putty cave for more than 27 hours.

6. On June 7, 2016, Colin Scott and his sister Sable entered a restricted area of Yellowstone National Park to attempt "hot potting" in a thermal pool. Colin slipped into the Norris Geyser Basin, where he was boiled alive and dissolved in the acidic waters, leaving only his shoes and wallet intact.

8. Hans Staininger, the Mayor of Braunau (a city in Austria, back then Bavaria), died 1567 when he broke his neck by tripping over his own beard. There was a fire at the town hall, where he slept, and while he tried to escape he fell over his own beard. The beard was 1.4m long and was usually rolled up in a leather pouch. This beard is now stored in a local museum.

9. In 2010, 19-year-old Sam Ballard, a rugby player from Sydney, ate a slug on a dare from friends. The slug was infected with rat lungworm disease, leading Sam to fall into a 420-day coma. When he awoke, he was paralyzed from the waist down and passed away in 2018 due to complications from the disease.

10. On Black Friday 2008, 34-year-old Walmart employee Jdimytai Damour was asked by his employer to use his body as a barrier for a crowd of over 2,000 people. He died that day after being trampled by the crowd. The shoppers did not concerned about his death, and even complained of waiting too long.

11. Famed dancer Isadora Duncan was killed when her long scarf got caught in a car wheel, pulling her out and breaking her neck.

12. The owner of the company that makes Segways, who spent years promoting their safety, died after accidentally driving a Segway off a cliff.

13. In 2016, Brazilian bride-to-be Rosemere do Nascimento Silva arranged for a helicopter to transport her to her wedding as a surprise for her fiancé. Tragically, the helicopter crashed en route, with footage capturing her final moments alive.

14. Footage from 2013 shows the final moments of 28-year-old James Cockle who was capture content for his YouTube before he was sucked into a deadly whirlpool.

15. In 1923, jockey Frank Hayes won a race at Belmont Park in New York despite suffering a fatal heart attack mid-race. His body remained in the saddle, crossing the finish line for the win.

16. 24-year-old Shad Thyrion died during rough sex with a woman named Taylor Schabusiness while they were both high on crystal meth. During sex, Taylor strangled him to death, cut off his head, and removed his organs. When she was arrested she told police "they would have fun trying to find his organs."

17. Robert Williams, a Ford assembly line worker, became the first human in history to be killed by a robot when he was struck by a robotic arm in 1979.

18. In 1985, a volcanic mudslide in Colombia trapped 13-year-old Omayra Sánchez with her legs caught in debris and her head above water. For nearly three days, Omayra was trapped as she slowly succumbed to gangrene and hypothermia. Knowing she would not survive, volunteers and rescuers did their best to comfort her. She passed away after 60 hours.

19. In 1989, in Miyakoji, Japan, primary school teacher Yumi Tanaka found a black shoe in a toilet bowl. Further investigation revealed a man's body in the sewer tank outside. The man, 26-year-old Naoyuki Kanno, had squeezed through a 14-inch septic opening, likely trying to spy on women using the toilet. He likely died from hypothermia.

20. Joao Maria de Souza from Brazil was killed in 2013 when a cow fell through his roof and crushed him while he slept.

21. Thirteen-year-old hockey fan Brittanie Cecil was struck in the temple by a deflected puck while watching a game. She died two days before her 14th birthday from a fractured skull.
