The Broken Slippers

In a small village in Delta State, Chinedu walked to school every day in worn-out slippers. The other kids laughed, but he didn’t mind—he just wanted to learn.

One day, during break, his slippers tore completely. He sat under a tree, too embarrassed to join the others.

His teacher, Miss Efe, noticed. After school, she handed him a new pair of sandals and whispered, “Keep walking, your journey is just beginning.”

Years later, Chinedu became a lecturer. On his office wall, he kept those old slippers—his reminder that greatness can start with nothing but hope.
