Five prisoners are lined up and hats are placed on their heads. The hats are either black or white, and the prisoners can see the hats of the people in front of them but not their own. Starting from the back of the line, each prisoner is asked to guess the color of their own hat. If a prisoner correctly guesses the color of their hat, they are freed. However, if they incorrectly guess, they are executed. The prisoners are given some time to discuss a strategy before the game begins.
