As a critical observer of cinematography, I often find myself questioning why Nollywood continues to shy away from the fictional adaptation of our rich folklore. Our cultural heritage is overflowing with tales that are deeply rooted in our identity, brimming with symbolism, history, and lessons that transcend generations. These stories, unique in their richness and complexity, offer untapped potential for cinematic exploration.

The reluctance to bring them to life on screen seems like a missed opportunity, as these narratives not only deserve to be told but also present a creative avenue that could elevate our storytelling and production values.

I made a fictional poster for what I imagine would be a great origin story of Ṣàngó. Would love to see this happen.
