A Minute to Run Mad Episode 3 Dayo gave Alabi his contact so he could call him later that day and possibly schedule a time for them to meet and discuss the matter properly. As Dayo got down from the car, he beckoned to Alabi. "Pardon my manners! Have this!" he said, stretching out a bundle of one hundred thousand naira to him. Alabi, in great shock and astonishment, collected the money. His hands trembled, and his words were lost in his mouth. When had he ever touched such an amount of money? "Thank you so much," he said, almost prostrating for Dayo. "Don't mention it! It’s nothing. I can do more than this, but this is all the cash I have with me. Just use this for foodstuff and to change your clothes for the meantime," Dayo said. Alabi stared at him in surprise. He couldn't believe what he just heard—was this really the least of what Dayo could do? "We'll talk later, guy, and don't forget to call me. It's very important!" Dayo said as he beckoned to his driver and security guard. They got into the car and zoomed off into the thin air, leaving Alabi on the road, startled. With different thoughts running through his mind, he left the spot, flagged down a bike, and went to the market to get some foodstuffs and drugs for himself and his sick mother. He got home with his hands fully loaded with the items he had just bought. "Good evening, Mama," he greeted his mother, who sat on the chair staring into empty space. "You are welcome, Alabi," she replied, staring at the items in his hands. She was amazed. The first question that came to her mind was: Where did the money for these items come from? Alabi dropped the items in the kitchen and came back with the drugs he had bought for his mother. "Mama, this is for you!" he said, handing the drugs to her. "Alabi!" she gently called out. "Where did you get the money for all this?" she asked, her eyes demanding nothing but an answer. "Mama, it's a long story," Alabi said, flashing a smile at her. "Let me hear it," she said firmly. Alabi knew his mother well. He knew she wouldn't let him rest until he told her the actual source of the drugs and foodstuffs he had brought home. So, without wasting time, he told her everything that had happened. "Well, just be careful," she said to him. "Why do you say that, Mama?" Alabi asked. "The same friend you knew twenty years ago might not be the same friend you know now. The fact that we are in need does not mean you should forget who you are and your values," she said. Her words weighed heavily on Alabi. They hit him so hard that, for a moment, he felt like Dayo wasn’t the solution to their predicament. He was confused about what to do. He remained mute, looking straight into his poor mother’s eyes. "I’m not saying you should stay away from him or not call him. All I’m saying is, no matter how hard things get, don’t forget the son of whom you are," she said and rested her back on the chair. "Okay, Mama, I have heard you. What do you feel like eating?" "Pounded yam will do," she said with a chuckle. Alabi couldn't hold back the laugh that escaped his mouth spontaneously. He went into the kitchen and started preparing the food. He made it as delicious as possible and served his mother. Around 8:30 p.m., after his mother had slept, he went out to have a proper thought about everything. A part of him said no, but he was overwhelmed by the money. He brought out the card Dayo had given him and stared at it for a few seconds. The desire to call him filled his heart. After much consideration, he decided to dial the number. "I just want to know what the solution is all about." Stage 1: Prepare ChatGPT, use this prompt. Prompt: " You are an expert ghostwriter with 20 years of experience. I’m going to provide you with some written material from three different authors, and your task will be to understand and craft a unique writing style that has elements of all three authors. You'll start this exercise by saying "BEGIN.” After, I'll present an example text, to which you'll respond, "CONTINUE". The process will continue similarly with another piece of writing and then with further examples. I'll give you unlimited examples. Your response will only be "CONTINUE.” You're only permitted to change your response when I tell you "FINISHED". After this, you'll explore and understand the tone, style, and characteristics of the writing based on the samples I've given. Then craft a unique writing style. Finally, I'll prompt you to craft a new piece of writing on a specified topic, emulating the distinctive writing style. " Stage 2: Create a unique style of writing If you already have one. Feed it to ChatGPT. If you don't, here’s how you can develop it: Choose 3 creators whose writing style you like. (I chose Cza, Dan Koe, and Toyin Omotoso) Take 8-10 Twitter threads of each creator and compile them in a Word document. Feed it to ChatGPT - one creator at a time. Stage 3: Once done type “FINISHED” Stage 4: Name your unique style of writing I named mine “Njasi style" Then use it to write more human-like content that doesn't sound like AI. Hope this helps. |
