A simpler way of saying 'rain beat me' is👇

I was severely tortured by the torrent tempest of aquatic down pour from the ozone cloud which left me drenched and 'liquified' as aqua pelted from the roof of my medulla oblongata and flowed and inundated my whole body to underneath the soles of my feet leaving me drenched all over.
