In 2022 when I was still in secondary school. My dad left and abandoned me and my mother with three other of my siblings.

We live in lagos state with my dad. After my dad left In 2022. Life became hard for my mom. She had to go through a lot just to feed me and my other siblings.

One night our landlord came and threatened to throw us out of the house if we don’t pay our rent in two days.

It was said that our rent was due for payment few months before my dad left. I never knew the reason why my dad left but my mom told me he decided to go his own way.

That night, mom had no other way to pay our house rent. She pleaded with our landlord to give her more time but he declined. Two of my siblings are not going to school anymore because my mom couldn’t afford to continue paying for there studies. Talk of paying for house rents.

I was 18 by then. I help my mom with the little business she was doing but there was no profit from her business that could catch up with all the needs at the moment.

That night was the night I saw our landlord angry and more serious. He threatened to throw us out in two days.

Our landlord was known for wománizing, he was known for bringing different kinds of woman at night. All the money he make from the house he own goes to the woman he takes every single day.

I couldn’t watch my mother been thrown into the streets by our landlord. So I decided to take a step. I knew what I was going to do was bad. But I had not choice.

I have never been exposed to any man before, but that night. I made a choice. A decision. That night while everyone was fast asleep, I sneaked out of the house and went outside to the compound.

My landlord usually sits at the front of his door every night till midnight before he goes inside his room. As I went out, Luckily for me I met him there.

I gathered courage and walked up to him, I was on my night gown. Showing most párt of my body.

“Good night Landlord. I greeted him, I could see him staring left and right before answering my greetings.

Jessica! What are you doing outside by this time of the night? Are you not supposed to be sleeping? My landlord asked.

“Why would I sleep? When you want to throw my mom out of your house in two days? I replied.

I saw him looked at me again, he couldn’t stop staring at my body, I can’t lie I look very attractive in those night dress. “Jessica is that the reason you are here to plead with me? Because I won’t listen to you ! He said.

“Please don’t pack us out, we don’t have anywhere to go. I said to him sadly.

“You better go back to your room and stop pleading. He said to me. I could still see his face staring at my body.

Is there anything I can do to pay for the rent? Am ready to do it. I can’t watch my mother suffer, I said.

He looked at me one more time, “Jessica are you sure you can do whatever it takes? He asked and kept staring left and right.

“Yes landlord. I answered with courage. I already know what was on his mind. I knew he wanted me already. It was a bad idea. But I did it out of pain and suffering.

He quickly held my hand and dragged me into his room and quickly locked his door. “Just let me have you, and after that, your mother can stay for another three months in my house. My landlord said.

I didn’t utter a reply. I was a vírgin. I was scared of the pain I might feel that night. I just nodded my head and said. “Please don’t hurt me.

After a few moments. He was done with me. I was pained and at same time ashamed of the decision I made that night.

He opened his door for me and i sneaked out of the room. I walked slowly like a tortoise till I got to our own apartment. I moved our door open and entered the room without making any sound.

When I got to my bed, I flashed myself a touch light and saw bloód on me. “What have you done to yourself? I asked myself.

The next morning I woke up early before anyone would do. I quickly cleaned up myself. I tried to act normal but my mom noticed I was okay.

“Jessica! What the problem with you? You have been acting weird since day break. My mom said.

I told her I was fine. “I think i have a little headache. I lied. Hiding the secret to myself.

Few minutes later, my our landlord walked up to our apartment. Our face jammed and he smile at me. I quickly looked away.

“Ehh mama Jessica. Am here to tell you that I have given you the grace of three more months. But if you don’t pay after three months. I will throw you out, there will be no mercy. Our landlord said.

My mother was so happy that our payment time was extended by our landlord. I saw the smile on her face. It made me smile too. But behind my smile was shame.

I slêpt with my lándlord to secure more time for my mom to stay. It insane.

But after that day. My whole life changed at one’s. I became so friendly with my landlord. Sometimes he would give me little changes to buy things for myself.

And as time goes, some nights I would go and meet him at his room secretly, he would have his way with me again.

I was getting used to sleèping with our landlord.

Life was becoming easy for me, I buy things I want. Because our landlord always gives me some change to keep.

I give some part of this money to my mother. She accepts it without asking how I got it. But then after some weeks, she noticed and asks me.

“Jessica, I noticed you have been giving me money recently. You don’t even work. How are you getting this money. She asked.

I have never lied to my mother before. So when she asked me that question. I didn’t know what made me spoke up. I told her everything that had been going on between be and my landlord.

I began to cry after saying everything. I thought she was going to scold me for taking a Bad step.

But looking at her face, she wasn’t even angry. But rather she said something that made me shock.

“Jessica our suffering is becoming too much. So if you can do something that will bring us money, then do it. My. Mother said, leaving me in shock.
