Yolanda Saldívar, the woman convicted of killing music legend Selena Quintanilla-Perez, has been denied parole after spending decades behind bars for fatally shooting the singer at a Texas motel in 1995.

On October 23, 1995, a jury in Houston convicted Saldívar of first-degree murder. She was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 30 years.

A three-member Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles panel voted not to release her. The panel said her case will be eligible to be reviewed again for parole in 2030.
