John bought a parrot that was supposed to be highly intelligent. Excited, he asked, "Can you talk?"

The parrot stared at him and said nothing.

John tried again, "Say something!"

Silence.

Frustrated, he muttered, "I wasted my money."

As soon as he turned away, the parrot sighed and said, "You think you wasted money? Imagine being a talking parrot stuck with you!"
