The match began with an evenly matched first half in torrential Parisian rain. City created several early chances, with Erling Haaland heading wide from a Phil Foden cross. Gianluigi Donnarumma was called into action as well, first denying Savinho's breakaway effort and later watching Nuno Mendes’ pullback to Achraf Hakimi ruled out for offside.

The momentum was firmly with PSG, and it paid off when João Neves headed in a Vitinha free-kick at the back post to complete the turnaround. Dembélé’s offside goal was followed by Gonçalo Ramos sealing the victory with a goal deep in stoppage time.
