According to Manchesterevening News, Manchester United winger Antony is reportedly set to finalize a loan move to Real Betis, with plans to travel to Spain on Friday night. The Brazilian winger, who joined United for £81 million in 2022 under Erik ten Hag after their time at Ajax, has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford.
Since his arrival, Antony has made 96 appearances and scored 12 goals, but his form has dipped this season, managing just 14 appearances and one goal against League One side Barnsley. In recent matches, he has frequently been used as a substitute and was left on the bench entirely during Thursday's game against Rangers.
Concerns over the salary arrangement initially delayed the loan move, as Betis requested United cover a significant portion of Antony's £200,000 weekly wages. However, these issues have reportedly been resolved, with Betis agreeing to pay 84% (£168,000) of his wages while United covers the remainder. This arrangement will help United ease Financial Fair Play (FFP) concerns.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the move has been approved, with Antony set to return to Manchester United in the summer, as no buy-back clause is included in the deal.
