Manchester United fans insisted that there is one “no-brainer” decision for Ruben Amorim around Kobbie Mainoo after the 1-0 win over Fulham on Sunday evening.
The Red Devils travelled to Craven Cottage for their Premier League encounter only days after their late win over Rangers in the Europe League clash at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim’s men dropped points on their last Premier League outing before the Fulham match, with the Red Devils losing 3-1 to Brighton at home last weekend.
However, the 39-year-old Portuguese manager saw United snatch all three Premier League points at Craven Cottage ahead of his 40th birthday on Monday.
United and Fulham played out a 0-0 scoreline up to half-time and Amorim’s men and Marco Silva’s side appeared toothless in attack for a large portion of the match.
The Red Devils took the lead late in the second half after Lisandro Martinez’s long-range strike took a major deflection off Sasa Lukic before landing in the Fulham net.

The Red Devils are now comfortably 13 points clear of the relegation zone and United are 12 points adrift from the Premier League top four after 23 matches.
Kobbie Mainoo started on the bench for the Premier League clash against Fulham and Ruben Amorim brought the United star on the pitch in the 81st minute.
The 19-year-old United midfielder replaced Alejandro Garnacho and Mainoo saw out the remainder of the match playing as the left-sided No 10 in Amorim’s formation.
Mainoo impressed during his late cameo and the Stockport-born player was denied a superb assist deep into injury time at Craven Cottage.
The England international linked up with Amad Diallo and played a one-two with his United teammate in the Fulham box.
Amad Diallo fired the ball in the back of the net and put United 2-0 up, only for VAR to intervene and for the 22-year-old Ivorian winger to be ruled in an offside position.
Man Utd fans react to Mainoo vs Fulham United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, urged Amorim to deploy Mainoo as the left-sided No 10 going forward after his stellar showing.
“Kobbie Mainoo needs to play in the No 10 position more,” one fan said.
While another wrote: “Mainoo in the 10 is a no-brainer. Garnacho plays like a winger in that position, hence why he does not suit the system.”
A third X user added: “We need to play Mainoo as a [No] 10. I can see something.”
Someone else posted: “Mainoo and Amad as the two [No] 10s, Bruno [Fernandes] in the pivot, I hope Ruben saw the vision.”
Another tweeted: “Get Mainoo in that left [No] 10, please. The shimmies. The feints. The give and gos. Has all the attributes to succeed there.”
“Mainoo looked quality in that left [No] 10 role, need to see him there more,” a sixth commented.
A seventh fan suggested: “Mainoo might be that ‘left 10’ that we think we don’t have, man.”
And an eighth wrote: “Mainoo was amazing at the end of the game, BTW, held it up really well in the corners, should have had an assist, too.”
