Manchester United are reportedly closing in on signing Lecce’s Danish wing-back Patrick Dorgu, with personal terms for a lucrative deal already agreed. United have offered the 20-year-old a five-year contract worth £63,000 per week, with an option to extend the deal for another year, potentially keeping him at Old Trafford until 2031.



According to Givemesport, Dorgu joined Lecce last season and quickly made a name for himself, helping the team stay in Serie A by a narrow margin. This season, his impressive form has drawn significant interest, with United emerging as the strongest contenders. Reports suggest the Red Devils have submitted two bids for him and are increasingly confident about finalizing the transfer.



If the move goes through, Dorgu will earn £3.3 million annually and could become Ruben Amorim’s first major signing as Manchester United manager. A transfer fee in the range of €3-4 million, including add-ons, may be enough to persuade Lecce to sell.

The 20-year-old has been praised for his versatility, excelling as a left wing-back, attacking midfielder, and potentially even in central midfield. Described as "incredible" by analysts, he brings physical attributes and adaptability that Manchester United’s squad has been lacking.

Dorgu has played 21 games in Serie A this season, scoring three goals and ranking highly in key metrics such as shots per game (1.7, 2nd in the squad) and key passes per game (0.9, 4th).

United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, has faced challenges with squad fitness, particularly at left wing-back. With Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia making just nine combined appearances this season, right-sided players Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui have been forced to fill in on the left. Dorgu’s arrival could provide a much-needed solution to this issue and help Amorim address the team’s inconsistent form in the Premier League, where he has managed only four wins in 12 matches.
