Chelsea are looking to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes and have identified three potential winger targets as part of their plans to reverse their recent poor form, which has seen them win just once in seven Premier League matches. According to The Athletic, the three players on Chelsea’s shortlist are Nico Williams, Alejandro Garnacho, and Jamie Gittens. Chelsea have already initiated talks with Manchester United for Garnacho, and an offer is expected soon. However, they are also considering Williams, who is admired by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. Williams’ £46 million release clause and high wages make the deal expensive, but if Chelsea move for him, it could force Arsenal to act. The third option, Jamie Gittens, has been in excellent form for Borussia Dortmund, but his price is likely to exceed £50 million, making a summer move more realistic. Nico Williams, currently impressing at Athletic Club, is one of Europe’s most promising wingers, with eight goals and assists in all competitions this season. He would bring dynamism to Chelsea's left wing. Meanwhile, Gittens’ rising reputation across Europe makes him an appealing prospect, and Garnacho, who has struggled for consistent game time under Rúben Amorim at Manchester United, could be the most attainable target for a January move. Chelsea's pursuit of Williams, in particular, could lead to a bidding war with Arsenal, as the Gunners have also been linked with the 22-year-old Spaniard. As the deadline approaches, it remains to be seen which of these targets Chelsea will prioritize. |
