Manchester United icon Dwight Yorke has made a bold call for his former side to re-sign the controversial Paul Pogba for a third stint.
Despite Pogba's ban from football since September 2023 following a failed drug test, Yorke, who clinched the Treble with United in 1999, believes the midfielder outshines any current options available to struggling manager Ruben Amorim.
Pogba, 31, has twice left United for Juventus and hasn't always been in the good books of the fans, but Yorke is convinced that the midfielder could be a game-changer for United once his suspension lifts next month.
Yorke is confident that third time could be a charm for Pogba at Old Trafford and has called for Sir Jim Radcliffe to strike a deal, telling casinobeats.com: "I would give Paul Pogba a third chance, definitely.
"Because of what United currently have and because of what we know he is capable of producing. I would say, 'let's have a look'. Give him a contract. You've got time here to prove yourself.
"You can come and play and help us out with the situation. I'm sure Pogba would be very keen. Maybe he might want a long-term deal because of the security.
"I can see why his name has been mentioned because United have struggled, and Pogba is a damn good player."

He concluded: "I think he's far better than what we have now. And if you're going to get a player for free, who's far better than all our players in midfield, then you do it."
Pogba initially left United in 2012 to join Juventus, frustrated by Sir Alex Ferguson's decision to bring Paul Scholes out of retirement instead of giving him more playing time.
He made a return to Manchester in a £90million deal four years later, only to depart again for the Italian club when his contract ended in 2016.
If he were to return for a third stint, it would underscore the desperation of United amidst a disastrous season.
United, who are desperately seeking points to avoid slipping into the relegation zone, will face Ipswich on Wednesday night. They then have an FA Cup fifth-round tie against Fulham on Sunday, followed by a trip to Real Sociedad for the last 16 of the Europa League.
Pogba's contract with Juventus was terminated after he received a four-year ban for testing positive for non-endogenous testosterone.
However, the suspension was reduced on appeal and the World Cup-winning midfielder has been intensifying his fitness regime in hopes of convincing clubs to take a chance on him.
