"I don't want nurse Alice to inject me." The small boy cried.
"Why don't you want Nurse Alice to inject you, she is so kind and gentle, please David, just stay calm. She will take it gentle with you okay."
David was not listening to what the mother was saying. He was crying profusely even before Nurse Alice touched him. Mrs. Angel thought his son was crying because he was scared of injection but it was something more than the injection.
Nurse Alice was smiling the whole time. Nurse Alice was a very beautiful nurse. She was always smiling and friendly to patients.
"David, the injection will not be painful. My hands are not painful, you can ask Stella." Nurse Alice said.
Stella was another child patient in the same ward with David. She smiled and nodded her head in affirmation of what Nurse Alice said.
Nurse Alice grabbed David's hand so that she could give him the injection but David bit her hand and ran away.
"Aaaagghhh," Nurse Alice screamed, "catch him for me. Her face was red now. This little boy needs to be taught a lesson, she thought. Mrs. Angel and the other nurses chased after little David, the little boy kept running until he fell on the ground. One of the nurses carried him up, he rested in the embrace of the nurse.
He whispered into the nurse ears:
"Please Nurse, I want you to inject me, I don't want nurse Alice to inject me."
"Okay, I will inject you." The young nurse said to the hearing of everyone.
"No! I will inject him!" Nurse Alice voice echoed in the whole hospital. Everyone was surprised and wondered why she shouted in the manner she did. When she realized all eyes were on her, she had to look for something to say to defend herself.
"I mean, Nurse Janet, you are still busy attending to the elderly man in the next ward. I will inject David while you attend to the elderly man."
"Oh, don't worry, Nurse Alice, I would hurry up with the injection so I can go and attend to the elderly man, little David is obviously scared, let me just handle this one for you."
Nurse Alice was not happy about this at all but she just pretended that she was okay with what Nurse Janet said.
Nurse Janet finally administered the injection to little David and the surprising thing was that he didn't cry when he was injected.
After everything, Mrs Angel thanked Nurse Janet for administering the injection. Mrs Angel could not help but wonder why her little boy didn't want Nurse Alice to inject her to the extent that he ran.
