"Nurse Alice! Wow, what a surprise!" Mrs. Angel welcomed Nurse Alice.
Nurse Alice hugged Mrs Angel as if they have been long time friends. Mrs Angel was surprised by the hug. She ushered her into the house, notwithstanding.
"I'm so sorry nurse, you came a little bit early, I'm still fixing breakfast but it will soon be ready." Angel said.
"Oh, you don't need to worry about that..."Nurse Alice was still speaking before Engr. Roberts came downstairs. He was not expecting to see anyone downstairs apart from his wife, so he was shirtless and only wore shorts.
Nurse Alice couldn't take her eyes off Engr. Roberts. She was mesmerized by his broad shoulders and hairy chest. She felt like placing her hands on his chest and carressing it. Alice had to caution herself to stop ogling at someone's husband in her presence.
"Good morning, Mr...." Nurse Alice said after she recollected herself.
"Roberts, I am Roberts, what about you?" Roberts asked shaking hands with her.
"I am Nurse Alice. I received a call earlier this morning from Dr. Nelson. He said there was an extra injection he was supposed to give your son. He didn't want to stress you guys so he asked that I come over to give him the injection," the nurse explained, "and I stay nearby," she added quickly.
"Oh, that was timely, he had a little fever in the night. Thank God, you are here." Robert said. The excitement of seeing the nurse after what happened to his little boy in the night made him not to think of calling the hospital to confirm what the nurse said.
Roberts was about to take nurse Alice to where his son was lying down before Angel stopped them. She remembered the dream his son had so it was suspicious for the same nurse to come back to inject her son even when he abruptly pointed out that he didn't want her to inject him. Her husband was not aware that this was the nurse that his son saw in the dream and that he didn't want to inject her.
"Please wait," she stopped them, "Nurse Alice, you have to leave now, if our son requires any treatment, we will take him to the hospital ourselves, so please, take your leave now."
Roberts was surprised by the words of his wife. He has never seen her so mean.
Nurse Alice on her own part broke into tears so she could attract pity from the couple.
"I...I only came because the doctor said the injection was very important, I didn't want anything to happen to the little boy. I didn't know this was how I was going to be treated. It's fine, I'll leave." She sniffed tears and left hurriedly.
"Honey, what was that all about, why where you been so mean?" Roberts asked angrily.
"Babe..." Angel was about to explain why she acted the way she acted before she nauseated. She rushed out to go and vomit, her husband followed her. After she vomited, she was feeling dizzy and was about to fall down before her husband caught her.
Roberts knew he had to take her to the hospital. He hurriedly rushed her there. On getting to the hospital, nurse Alice was on duty. She attended to Angel so kindly despite the harsh way she addressed her just this morning at their place. Angel was touched by her kindness.
They ran some tests for Angel and it was discovered that she was pregnant. She and her husband were filled with so much joy. They thanked the lab scientist that conducted the test. When they were about to leave, Angel went to meet Alice.
"Nurse Alice, I'm very sorry for what happened earlier this morning. I think I misjudged you, I don't know what came over me. I'm so sorry about that." Angel apologized.
"It's fine. I've even forgotten about it." Alice responded.
"Thank you so much." Angel said after she heaved a sigh of relief.
"So, can we be friends now." Alice said.
"Yeah, sure!" Angel said with excitement and the both of them hugged as a sign of their friendship.
Hmm, why is Alice acting so kind or is she up to something?
