Victor Osimhen delivered another stunning performance, netting twice as Galatasaray played out a dramatic 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa in the Istanbul derby on Sunday.

The Nigerian striker opened the scoring in the 12th minute, coolly converting from the penalty spot to give the visitors an early advantage.
Galatasaray looked in control for much of the first half, limiting Kasimpasa’s attacking threat while maintaining possession.
However, the second half saw the game come to life as Kasimpasa responded strongly. M.B. Ouanes equalized in the 52nd minute with a well-placed finish, shifting the momentum in favor of the home side.
Just nine minutes later, J. Brekalo capitalized on defensive uncertainty to fire Kasimpasa into the lead in the 61st minute.
Galatasaray, determined to reclaim control, responded swiftly. Mario Lemina found the back of the net in the 69th minute, bringing the visitors level at 2-2.
Barely two minutes later, Osimhen struck again, rising above the defenders to head home a cross and restore Galatasaray’s lead at 3-2.
Just as it seemed that the Yellow and Reds would secure all three points, a late defensive lapse proved costly.

In stoppage time, Kasimpasa was awarded a penalty, and Haris Hajradinovic made no mistake from the spot, ensuring a share of the spoils in an action-packed contest.
Despite the frustrating result, Osimhen was a dominant force throughout the game.

The Super Eagles star recorded two shots on target, had two more attempts blocked, won four aerial duels, created a key pass, and drew two fouls.
His ability to consistently threaten the opposition’s defense was on full display, reinforcing his status as Galatasaray’s most potent attacking weapon.
His brace takes his season tally to 22 goals and five assists in 28 matches across all competitions, including 16 league goals in 20 appearances.
He has also netted six times in the UEFA Europa League, underlining his influence on both domestic and continental fronts.
Galatasaray remains at the top of the Turkish Super Lig standings with 65 points from 25 games, but their lead has now been slightly reduced, adding extra pressure as the title race intensifies.
Osimhen’s red-hot form will be crucial for Nigeria as they gear up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
With the Super Eagles struggling in the qualification campaign, head coach Eric Chelle will be counting on Osimhen’s firepower to secure much-needed victories and reignite Nigeria’s World Cup hopes.
The 26-year-old remains a vital figure for both club and country, and his performances continue to justify the hype surrounding his ability.
If he maintains this level, Galatasaray will be confident of securing the league title, and Nigeria will have a reliable goal-scorer to lead them in their quest for a World Cup spot.
