Lulama Dingiswayo, a resident of Lamontville, shared her heartbreaking story of watching her two children and grandchild being swept away by the floods. "It was Tuesday night, and everyone was sleeping when we heard a knock on the door saying we should go out because the rain was coming into the house," she said. Dingiswayo's informal home has flooded every time there are heavy rains, and she is now appealing to the government to relocate her to safer land. "I'm still trying to come to terms with what happened," she said, fighting back tears. "I just want to find my children and grandchild, and I want the government to help me rebuild my life.
