Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq delivered a heroic performance, scoring twice to help relegation-threatened Valencia secure a dramatic 3-3 draw against Osasuna in Sunday’s La Liga clash.

With Valencia on the brink of defeat, Sadiq stepped up in the 88th minute, producing an audacious backheeled finish from Javi Guerra’s cross to salvage a crucial point for Los Che at El Sadar.
The Nigerian forward had earlier given Valencia a 2-1 lead in the first half, steering home another Guerra cross in the 32nd minute.
However, Osasuna fought back, with Aimar Oroz completing his brace before Ante Budimir converted a penalty to put the hosts ahead.

Valencia, desperate to avoid another loss, kept pushing for an equalizer, and Sadiq once again delivered in the dying moments, breaking Osasuna hearts with his second goal of the night.

Valencia started brightly, catching Osasuna off guard as Diego Lopez capitalized on a defensive error to fire into an empty net. The hosts responded swiftly, with Oroz finishing off a Bryan Zaragoza pass in the 17th minute.
Sadiq then restored Valencia’s lead in the 32nd minute, but Osasuna hit back through Oroz’s superb volley.
The turning point came when referee Mario Melero awarded a penalty after Cristhian Mosquera fouled Ruben García in the box. Budimir converted, making history as Osasuna’s all-time top scorer in La Liga with 58 goals.

As time ran out, Valencia threw everything forward, and Sadiq’s last-gasp brilliance ensured they didn’t leave empty-handed.
Valencia’s Struggles Continue
Despite Sadiq’s heroics, Valencia remains in the relegation zone, level on points with 16th-placed Las Palmas but still in 18th place with 24 points from 26 games.
Los Che have now gone three games without a win, managing just one victory in their last five outings (three defeats, one draw).
After the match, Valencia coach Carlos Corberán praised Sadiq’s impact, saying:
“Sadiq arrived very committed and eager to work. We are going to give him the confidence he needs to continue helping the team.”
The Nigerian forward now has four goals and one assist since joining Valencia in January, and with the team battling for survival, his contributions will be crucial in the coming weeks.
