đ OIL MONEY â¨ī¸ â A NIGERIAN STORY â Šī¸ SHINA SCRIPTS đĨ đĸ #EPISODE 9ī¸âŖ đĸ đ FARIDA đ It just dawned on me that Tobi had reported me to his mom like I thought. Such a huge shame. He could have confronted me and not act like a coward. What is he? 2? It annoys me deeply but I choose to keep that to myself. What was even his aim? To get me fired? The stuff is actually vexing me because what sort of childish behavior is this? "I want to know the exact thing that happened." She says, adjusting her sitting position. How exactly do I tell her about this stuff? "Uhm... it is not really serious." I say. "Not really serious and you were gloomy all through the trip?" No nau. Thats a completely different reason. Wetin concern Tobi concern my family. "No, ma. I just had some personal issues on my mind." Hopefully, this would cover for everything. "Alright. So, what was the problem between you and Tobi?" She presses. I let out a deep sigh. "He just disrespected me and we got into an argument." This is the nicest way to put how he acted. If not that I am compelled to speak, I would not even divulge anything. I am not Tobi who goes around running to mummy. "Oh. Okay." She says, leaning into the chair. "Aunty Farida!" Seyi. "My baby." She practically jumps on my body and I spoil her with kisses on her face. "Just carry her to your house." Madam says and we both laugh. Her eyes held a feeling. "I did something for you, Aunty Farida." "Ehen?" "Yes, let's go and see." She gets off my body and begins to tug on my dress. "Okay." I respond, following her. She leads us to the kitchen, all this while jumping excitedly. "Ta-da." She is clearly excited as she takes off the cover on the plate, revealing pancakes and sauce. Awwn.. My baby made pancakes for me. That's so thoughtful of her. "Thank you, sweetie." I lean down and give her a peck on her cheeks. "You're welcome. Come have a taste." She pulls the chair for me to sit and takes the chair beside mine, her hands on her chin as she waits, expecting my reaction. I smile and cut a piece with the fork she placed for me. I let out a low moan, this girl is good. "Young lady." I call out teasingly. She chuckles when I call her that. "Yes, Aunty Farida." She's grinning right now. "It tastes amazing." I state and she smiles. "Thank you, my dear." I tell her and she nods. "Have you eaten?" I ask her and she answers in affirmation. "You see, I cannot finish this one, so you'll have to eat with me." She starts laughing out loud. She is so adorable. "Aunty Farida, I know you can." She says in between laughs. "But." She adds, jumping off her seat to sit on my laps. "Since it is you that's asking, I'll join but Aunty Farida, you are feeding me o." Her arms are folded on her chest as she pouts. "You this child, are you sure I did not give birth to you in another life, because the way you have me wrapped around your fingers." I joke. "Always famzing your way through, I see." I roll my eyes when I hear the voice of the person who happens to be the most annoying individual on earth right now, to me. "Brother Tobi, good morning." More like Agbaya Tobi. Reportee reportee Tobi. "Good morning, Seyi." He stops by where we are sat and pinches her cheeks a little. "Ouch. It's painful." Seyi complains, rubbing the spot. Uncle does not have sense nau, that's why he pinched her. He doesn't even sympathize with her, instead he lets out a small laugh. See why he suites the Agbaya description. "Sorry, dear." I say, gently tapping her on her body. Tobi walks away from us. I did not greet him. "Good morning, madam." I could hear the sarcasm in his voice. In all honesty, I knew he was talking to me but is my name madam? He will answer his greeting by himself. Let's not even forget about the fact that he reported me to his mom. I continue to eat the pancakes, feeding Seyi at intervals. Once we are done, which is soon, we leave the kitchen. Seyi has another thing to show me and I know there would be more because this is not the first time she is 'showing me something'. I am not complaining, though. By the time I am prepared to leave, it's already evening and I am very exhausted. Thank God I did not drive here. It would not have been funny. "Farida, take care of yourself." Madam Yeni states, hugging me. "Thank you, ma. I will." A smile dances on my lips when I respond. "Aunty Farida, when next are you coming?" "I really don't know, dear but it should be soon." Seyi has a sad expression on her face but it's really not certain so I can't give her a response. "You know you are always welcome." I hear Tobi let out a snicker. "Stay safe while driving o." "Don't worry, I did not drive. I'll just order a cab." I state. "Nah, Tobi, you're going out, right?" She asks her son. "I'm not driving her." I don't need you either. "My bolt driver is already waiting outside, ma." I lie. "Alright, dear. Take care of yourself." After saying goodbye, I step out and start booking for a cab. 4 minutes away, great! I try dialing his number but it's not going through so I decide to wait a little. 15 minutes and I am still standing here. I booked for another cab but now the driver is asking me to cancel. You see why I don't like these apps sometimes. I hear the blast of a horn and I quickly shift, more towards the end of the sidewalks. With this plenty road, this person still wants to disturb the small pedestrian walk way. To my surprise, the window starts winding down. This late, who could it be? I quickly start walking faster to dodge whoever it is. "Miss. Lawal?" The person calls out. I let out a loud hiss. Tobi. 'Why are you still here?" He asks. "I am waiting for my bolt driver." "You said that about 15 minutes ago." He states. Well, thank you, Mr. Obvious. "Yeah. Cancel some, get some." I give him a fake smile. "You're weird." He speaks. "Thank you." I state and continue walking. This annoying man is following me with his car. "Come in. I'll drop you off." All sort of jokes but this is the funniest. What is this man expecting as an answer from me? Soon, I hear footsteps behind me and he grabs my hand. A strange feeling washes through me and I see him slightly recoil before dragging me into the car, ignoring my curses. He rushes to his side of the car and gets in, locking the doors. "What's your address?" He asks. I dont answer him. I am pissed. "My place it is, then." Immediately he speaks, he starts driving. I thought he was joking but this man actually drove me to his house. You can imagine! As I step out of the car, I walk away from him, ignoring his calls. I book a cab and luckily, it is 1 minute away. The cab arrives and I leave. đđđđđ The next Monday, work commences again. The weekend and the rest are over; back to work. I have a lot to work on. You know, with someone else doing my job, efficiency won't be as high as it should be. However, he tried and did not do so bad. Now I have to go to Mr. Bankole's office because there is a document that he needs to sign. I sigh and dip my hand into the bowl of sweet to pick one, then pop it into my mouth. When I am done licking it, I head for his office. "Is he in?" I ask Ugomma. "Yes, he is." She answers. "Alright." Knocking a little on the door, I go in when I hear his permission. "Good morning, sir.' I greet because it is obligated of me to. "Good morning, Miss. Lawal." He says, not lifting his head from his laptop. I am not surprised he knows it is me, considering the number of arguments we have had. He stretches his hand and collects the document and proceeds to sign it. After signing, he reaches out to hand me the document but when I grab it, he hesitates and refuses to hand it to me but looks up instead. He stares at me for a while before picking. "Please sit." He says calmly and I reluctantly do as he says. "There is something I need to tell you." He states, letting out a very heavy sigh. I wonder what it is. 1 1 |
