Popular Yoruba movie actor Isiaq Sanusi has revealed some of the struggles that he went through in order to raise some money to become an actor, while also stating how he ran away from home to work at a bakery in Lagos State.
In a video that was posted on the YouTube channel of Biola Adebayo Ent during an interview, he made it known that he left his father's wealth in his hometown to work at a bread bakery in Lagos.
In his statement, he said, "When I told my friends about my plan to become an actor, they advised me to leave my comfort zone, and even though I have people in Lagos that I can stay with, they will not allow me to become an actor. I moved to Lagos, and I was staying with my stepmom, who didn't agree with my choice, but my brother agreed with me because he studied mass communication at the university. My brother was into the telecommunication business at the time, so I was working with him and saving some money at the same time. When I went to enrol myself for film making, I was asked to pay fifteen thousand naira, but I didn't have the money, so I had to look for it. I decided to work at a bakery, but my boss always doubted me because I was so young and thin at that time. I left my father's wealth and ran away from home to work at a bread bakery in Lagos. My boss gave me a nickname, but I felt so bad about it because I came from a rich family. I was able to raise money to register as a film maker and am still using the nickname that my boss at the bakery gave me up till now."
