President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of six Chief Medical Directors (CMDs) for various Federal Government-owned hospitals across Nigeria, News360 Nigeria reports.

The announcement, made on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, reaffirms the administration’s commitment to enhancing the nation’s healthcare sector.

Newly Appointed CMDs:

1. Prof. Olusegun Ojo – Federal Teaching Hospital, Akure, Ondo State.

2. Prof. Yusuf Abdullahi – Reappointed as CMD, Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe.

3. Dr. Dauda Katagum – Confirmed as substantive CMD, Federal Teaching Hospital, Azare, Bauchi State.

4. Dr. Ikrama Hassan – Federal Teaching Hospital, Lafia, Nasarawa State.

5. Dr. Ali Ramat – National Orthopedic Hospital, Maiduguri, Borno State.

6. Dr. Haruna Shehu – Federal Medical Centre, Kafanchan, Kaduna State.

According to Onanuga, the appointments, effective from the assumption of office, are for a four-year tenure. The President tasked the CMDs with upholding professionalism, accountability, and excellence in service delivery.
