Grandma’s Voice Assistant
My grandma recently got a smart speaker for her house, and let’s just say… technology isn’t her best friend.
One day, I walked in and saw her yelling at it:
Grandma: "Alexa! Play my favorite song!"
Alexa: "I'm sorry, I didn't understand that."
Grandma: "PLAY. MY. FAVORITE. SONG!"
Alexa: "Could you repeat that?"
Grandma: "YOU STUPID MACHINE, PLAY THE ONE I LIKE!"
At this point, I stepped in to help. "Grandma, you have to tell Alexa the name of the song."
She looked at me, completely serious, and said: "I don't know the name! I just know it's the one I like!"
She then turned back to Alexa and muttered, "Useless toaster."
Moral of the story: Technology is only as smart as its user.
