Real Madrid returned to the top of the La Liga table alongside Barcelona after a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Rayo Vallecano.


This win was crucial for the defending champions, who were looking to bounce back after a disappointing loss to Real Betis the previous weekend.

The match began at a slow pace for Los Blancos, but it didn’t take long for their star players to make an impact. Kylian Mbappé broke the deadlock in the 30th minute with a brilliant solo effort.

After receiving a well-placed pass from Vinícius Junior, the French forward cut inside and unleashed a precise low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Just four minutes later, Vinícius Junior doubled the lead with a spectacular goal of his own.

The Brazilian winger showed his skill by outmaneuvering Rayo Vallecano’s defense, including a clever set of stepovers that left Andrei Rațiu behind, before netting his 19th goal of the season.

Rayo Vallecano managed to pull one back just before halftime when Pedro Díaz’s strike found the back of the net with some help from the woodwork.
