So, I know your question. "Enough explanation, Joel. How do we get this fixed?" I know you all love me so I'll tell you 😂😂👇

1. EMPHASIZE ON THE VOWEL (vowel modification): As much as the consonant is important in the song you're singing, let your focus be on the vowel in the words you're pronouncing. So you have to pay less attention to the consonants, and more attention to the vowels. So if you wanna pronounce the word CAN'T in a song, be moderate on the C and intentional about the A. While this is helpful, there might still be cases where you need to be intentional about the consonant as you should for the vowels. So, in that case, you 👇👇

2. SOFTEN THE CONSONANTS: Yes I said it. Make it soft. HOW? Place your tongue on your lower teeth, and your jaws VERY RELAXED AND FREE, and then on the note you decide to sing on, softly pronounce those hard consonants. It won't be clear because of where your tongue is, but it will give you a better sensation of how it should feel when you're singing the consonants in the song. Then with that same sensation you got from this exercise, now sing the consonant again, applying that same sensation but without your tongue on your teeth. You'll realize how soft those hard consonants can be.

3. GET USED TO IT: After you've done the exercise in number 2, if it still feels hard, you should pick that consonant and pronounce it repeatedly. Play around it and let your voice get used to it. If the word is Can't, and the K in Can't is hard, on the note of that Can't, pronounce the K repeated like Ka Ka Ka Ka.

4. SPEAK IT BEFORE YOU SING IT: We know that speaking those hard consonants is gonna easier than singing it. So you have to get used to speaking it. And since we can actually speak on rage, you can even speak the word on the same note as it was used for singing.

5. USE NASAL RESONANCE: Do you know that by singing the consonants into your nose, they become Easier to pronounce?? Especially the APPROXIMANTS like R and L that are known for pushing the tongue backwards. So placing the consonant sounds into your nose helps remove the problems of consonants. In fact, this works the Best out of everything I just said 😂.

You have to be really intentional about this by picking out the difficult words in the song and making them easy to sing. Yeyyyyyy.

Now this will all be so much easy for you if only you had a vocal coach who will help you create other amazing ways to get rid of this particular problem and many others because if your basic techniques such as breathing, resonance, and vocal registrations and vocal cord coordinations are poorly utilized, you may not even get this one correctly. So find a vocal coach as soon as possible before you keep using hard consonants to damage your voice. If you don't have any vocal coach, fear not my people.
