The Door That Wasn’t There Yesterday

It wasn’t there before. I swear it wasn’t.

Yesterday, the hallway ended with a blank wall — nothing but chipped paint and old wallpaper. But this morning, a door stood in its place.

It’s not like the others. The wood looks too smooth, too new. There’s no handle, no keyhole, yet somehow, I know it’s waiting for me to open it.

I shouldn’t. Every part of me screams not to. But I also know… it wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t meant for me.

The question is: what if what’s on the other side has been waiting for me too?
