I HATE MY MOTHER ( A SHORT STORY)

As soon as the words escaped her lips, Sarah felt a twinge of guilt and regret. She had never spoken so harshly about her mother before, but the emotions had been building up inside her for what felt like an eternity.

"I hate my mother," Sarah said, her voice trembling with anger and sadness.

Her best friend, Gladys, looked at her with concern and surprise. "What's going on, Sarah? What made you feel this way?"

Sarah took a deep breath and let it all out. "It's just...she's always so difficult. Nothing I do is ever good enough for her. She's always finding fault, always pointing out what I'm doing wrong. I feel like I'm walking on eggshells around her, never knowing when she'll blow up at me next."

Gladys nodded sympathetically. "I had no idea it was that bad. What else?"

Sarah's eyes welled up with tears. "She never listens to me. She never asks me how my day was or what's going on in my life. She's always too busy with work or her own problems to care about mine. And when I try to talk to her about something important, she just dismisses me or tells me I'm being dramatic."

Gladys put a comforting arm around Sarah's shoulders. "I'm so sorry, Emily. That must be really tough for you to deal with."

Sarah nodded, feeling a lump form in her throat. "And it's not just that. She's always comparing me to my sister, who's perfect in her eyes. she's always saying 'Why can't you be more like your sister?'. Like, I'm not good enough just because I'm not like someone else."
Gladys hugged Sarah tightly. "You are good enough, Sarah. You're amazing just the way you are. And I'm here for you, no matter what."

Sarah felt a wave of gratitude wash over her. She knew she wasn't alone, and that with friends like Gladys by her side, she could face whatever challenges came her way.
