In the strange village of Auseba, an unusual tradition had been upheld for generations: women were the kings, and men were the queens. In this matriarchal society, women were the leaders and providers, while men were tasked with household chores and child-rearing. This unique custom began when the village was founded by a fierce and powerful woman named Zaria, who ruled as the village's first king.

Zaria, despite her many marriages, never bore a male child. Desperate to produce an heir, she married as many men as possible, but her wish remained unfulfilled. Resigned to her fate, she eventually passed the throne to her eldest daughter, solidifying the tradition of female rulers in Auseba. Since then, the village had been strictly governed by women, who were known for their beauty, courage, and fierceness. They were farmers, artisans, and warriors, ensuring that their households were well-provided for, while the men stayed at home to cook, clean, and care for the children.

In Auseba, it was customary for a woman to hand over her newborn to the father immediately after birth, entrusting him with the child's upbringing. Women were free to marry as many men as they wished, and the current king, a strikingly beautiful woman named Zaria, had taken this tradition to heart. With 25 husbands at her beck and call, King Zaria's marriages were not out of love but ambition. She sought to break the village record for the most husbands married by a single ruler, a goal that filled her with determination but left her husbands living in fear.

However, not everyone in Auseba was content with this way of life. Sarrow, the only single man in the village at 45 years old, found the idea of being a housewife repugnant. He had remained unmarried, refusing to conform to the village's expectations. Resentment simmered within him as he watched the women of Auseba discipline their husbands strictly, often discarding them for the slightest transgression. Sarrow was biding his time, waiting for the perfect moment to strike and overthrow King Zaria, determined to change the course of the village's history.

Any single misunderstanding with their husband, the woman of Auseba would marry another one, and their other husbands did not complain. The only woman in Auseba village whose husband was Uchichi was Adwan. She and her husband lived in peace and loved each other so much. Uchichi vowed never to marry another husband, and this angered King Zaria so much because it was against their tradition. But King Zaria had no say in Uchichi's marital life.

A young and handsome man came into Auseba village and won the heart of King Zaria. For the first time in her life, she was in love with a man, and she was willing to do anything to make him hers completely. Ibuka, a very handsome man, was well-built, unlike the men in Auseba village. He came to Auseba village in search of greener pastures, and now the king of the village was in love with him.

King Zaria showered Ibuka with lots of love. She gave him many gifts to entice him so he could become one of her husbands. Abuka refused on many occasions, but eventually, he agreed on one condition. The woman king fell in love with Abuka despite having 25 husbands, but she felt something she didn't feel for her other husbands. For Abuka, she was so much in love with him.

Abuka put King Zaria under a condition. He told King Zaria that for him to marry her, he had to be the king, and she would be the queen. King Zaria became confused. It wasn't right—the woman asked to be the king and the husband the wife. In Auseba, what Abuka was asking for was too much. If it had been any other random man who asked for this, King Zaria would have punished him. But her strong heart melted at the sight of Abuka. She was very much in love with Abuka, and she had never been in love with any man, despite having 25 husbands. She wanted Abuka and was willing to do anything to get him.

So, she decided to make Abuka king, therefore becoming the queen. King Zaria didn't think of the consequences of this decision; she just did it because of her love towards Abuka. The villagers mumbled and complained because of King Zaria's decision. It was wrong. The ancestors would be rolling in their graves. How could she make a man king and a stranger at that? But because of love, King Zaria made Abuka king, and she became the queen. She gave Abuka the staff of authority, and as long as this staff was with Abuka, he was the king of Auseb
