NigeriaThe Great Dispute Between God And The Devil.......

The never-ending dispute between God and the devil is one of the most profound and complex themes in the Bible. It’s less about a "battle of equals" and more about a rebellion that was doomed from the start. Let’s break it down:

---

1. The Origin of the Dispute: Lucifer’s Fall

The conflict began when Lucifer, an angel of high rank, became prideful and desired to be like God.

Isaiah 14:12-14 (NKJV) describes his fall:
"How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!... For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God... I will be like the Most High.’"

Ezekiel 28:12-17 also speaks of a beautiful, powerful being corrupted by pride.

Lucifer wasn’t satisfied serving God — he wanted God’s throne. This pride led to his expulsion from Heaven, becoming Satan ("the adversary").

---

2. The Battle for Humanity

After his fall, Satan shifted his rebellion toward God’s creation — specifically humans.

Genesis 3 shows Satan (in the form of a serpent) deceiving Adam and Eve, introducing sin into the world. His goal wasn’t just to trick them — it was to separate humanity from God, corrupting God’s beloved creation.

Job 1:6-12 gives a rare look at Satan confronting God, accusing Job of only being faithful because of blessings. This showcases Satan’s ongoing role as the "accuser of the brethren" (Revelation 12:10).

---

3. The Temporary Rule of Satan

The Bible acknowledges Satan as having limited authority in this world:

2 Corinthians 4:4 — "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers."

John 12:31 — "Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out."

Satan works to distort truth, cause suffering, and lead people away from God. But this rule is temporary — his time is running out.

---

4. The Ultimate Defeat of Satan

The Bible makes it clear: God wins. The "dispute" is really a one-sided rebellion that God permits for a time, but the ending is already written:

Revelation 20:10 — "And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

Colossians 2:15 — "Having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."

The pivotal moment was Christ’s death and resurrection, which broke Satan’s hold on humanity’s fate.

---

5. The Present Battle: Spiritual Warfare

While Satan is defeated spiritually, he still fights to drag as many souls as he can into rebellion and destruction:

Ephesians 6:12 — "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

1 Peter 5:8 — "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."

Believers are called to resist him, stand firm, and rely on God’s strength — knowing victory is already secured.

---

Final Thought: Why Does God Allow It?

A big question is: Why doesn’t God end this now?

The Bible hints at an answer:

2 Peter 3:9 — "The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise... Instead, He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

God allows the conflict to continue for now so that more people have the chance to choose Him. In the end, He honors our free will — even when that means allowing evil to exist temporarily.
