Manchester United are planning significant changes to their squad during the January transfer window due to poor form and a disappointing league position. Manager Ruben Amorim is keen to offload players who are no longer in his plans.
According to The Mirror, the club is looking to sell Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, and Antony, who are all on high wages. Rashford earns £325,000 per week, Casemiro £350,000, and Antony £200,000. The club aims to reduce their wage bill and comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules by selling these players.
United's financial situation necessitates player sales before making new signings. Rashford, in particular, is likely to be sold permanently, as his homegrown status would result in pure profit for the club. He has been linked with a move to AC Milan, although it's unclear if the Italian club can afford the transfer.
The club may also consider selling Tyrell Malacia, Erik ten Hag's first signing, as part of a broader effort to overhaul the squad. Amorim and the board are focused on adding depth and quality while clearing out players who are surplus to requirements.
