Adamawa State Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta visited the Adamawa State Polytechnic campus in Numan on Wednesday to assess the condition of its facilities firsthand.
During her inspection, Professor Farauta expressed deep concern over the deplorable condition of structures, including hostels and staff quarters, which now barely resemble their former state. Only a few buildings remain in acceptable condition, highlighting the urgent need for government's intervention.
She said the visit will strengthen Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri administration’s commitment to improving educational standards across the state.
Professor Farauta assured that the administration is dedicated to transforming the institution across the state for the better. “As a government that places high value on education, we are determined to restore and improve our educational institutions,” she stated.
She further revealed that the on site assessment visit is part of Governor Fintiri’s broader strategy to gain firsthand insights into the challenges facing the polytechnic, paving the way for comprehensive reforms to enhance learning conditions across the institution.
State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Umaru Garba Pella, recalled the institution’s glorious past and reiterated government’s readiness and resolve to restore the institution to its former prestige for the benefit of Adamawa’s citizens.
The Rector of Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola, Muhammed Dahiru Toungos, expressed optimism, saying, “With government’s intervention, we believe the Numan campus will soon regain its former glory.”
