While oranges are a nutritious and delicious addition to a healthy diet, excessive consumption can lead to several side effects. Eating too many oranges can cause:

- Digestive issues, such as bloating, gas, and stomach cramps
- Interference with medication absorption, particularly blood thinners
- Increased risk of kidney stones due to high citrate content
- Tooth decay and erosion from acidity
- Allergic reactions, including hives and itching, in rare cases.

Moderation is key to reaping the benefits of oranges while minimizing potential side effects.

Barcelona winger, Lamine Yamal has named Liverpool as the only club that can win the UEFA Champions League trophy ahead of Barcelona this season.

Yamal spoke ahead of Barcelona’s LaLiga clash with Las Palmas this weekend.

Both Liverpool and Barcelona have already booked their place in the Champions League Round of 16 stage.

The Reds finished in top position ahead of Barca following the conclusion of the Champions League group stage.

“I think that only Liverpool are more favorites than us in Champions League… as they arrived first,” Yamal told MD.

“We can compete to win it. We can be there.”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid won the Champions League trophy last season.

The Los Blancos defeated Dortmund 2-0 in the final at the Wembley Stadium.

Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has said he didn’t want to offend Ademola Lookman following his outburst in the aftermath of the club’s defeat to Club Brugge.

Gasperini blamed Lookman for taking a penalty kick in Tuesday’s home loss, saying that the striker was “one of the worst penalty kick takers” he had ever seen.

The Nigeria international hit back, saying that manager’s words had been disrespectful.

The Italian has now clarified he didn’t want to upset the winger with his comment.

“Lookman felt offended, but I didn’t want to offend anyone. He entered with fantastic approach against Club Brugge,” he was quoted by TMW.

“If he starts training to improve on penalties… with his exceptional skills Ademola can become our first penalty taker.”

Former Arsenal forward, Thierry Henry, has issued a warning to Barcelona on the management of their youngster, Lamine Yamal.

Yamal, 17, has positioned himself as one of the best players in the world, despite being in only his second season as a professional.

The winger has earned rave reviews for his displays both on international and club levels, earning a starting berth for Barcelona aged just 16.

He became a starter for Spain in the same year, helping his country win Euro 2024 last summer.

Henry, who also played for Barcelona spoke about the youngster during his analysis of the UEFA Champions League games on CBS Sports Studio.

The pundit used his former teammate Bojan Krkic as an example of how the Catalan side got things wrong in the past.

“You can see what can happen to you when you’re young and you don’t know how to deal with everything. Everything is happening very quickly.

“He [Bojan] got lost in terms of anxiety and not wanting to be seen too much.

“That is something that sometimes people do not understand and do not want to understand because they see you there, you are playing and they forget that he is a child who went from not being known to everyone thinking he is good. Which by the way, is good,” he said.

Now an executive at Barcelona, Krkic shared his experience in a documentary after he failed to reach the heights expected of him.

Former Arsenal and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has criticised former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher for dismissing the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, as a minor tournament.

Speaking to AfricaSoccer, Adebayor stated that Carragher is not among the world’s top defenders and described his remarks as disrespectful to African football and its people.

“These comments are a total disrespect not only to AFCON but also to all Africans,” Adebayor said.

“It’s always the same when AFCON comes around—clubs hesitate to release players, and critics try to downplay its importance.

“I played against world-class defenders in the Premier League; Carragher is not one of them.”

Carragher recently made the comments during a Sky Sports debate on Mohamed Salah’s Ballon d’Or chances, suggesting that AFCON lacked the prestige of the Euros or the World Cup.

Although he later clarified his remarks, backlash against his stance continues.

Former England defender, Jamie Carragher, has responded to the criticisms he got for insinuating that the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, is not a major tournament.

The former Liverpool captain was talking about Mohamed Salah not winning the Ballon d’Or due to Egypt’s absence from a major tournament.

Football legends from the continent like Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, John Mikel Obi, Elhadji Diouf among others, hit back at Carragher over his remarks.

Following the backlash he received, Carragher has come out to clarify what he meant about the AFCON tournament.

“It was never my aim, whether it’s a team, a player, a continent or a tournament.

“Where I would say I got it wrong is I was clumsy with my language in describing AFCON as not a major tournament.

“I was trying to explain the merits of Mo Salah winning the Ballon d’Or, and I felt, not just AFCON, the Asian Cup or the Gold Cup. There are five major tournaments besides the World Cup for each continent.

“However, some of them don’t resonate with the people who vote for the Ballon d’Or, and that’s not an opinion; it’s a fact. Look at those who’ve won the award over the last 40-50 years,” the 47-year-old said on CBS Sports Golazo UEFA Champions League show.

Fenerbahce manager, Jose Mourinho, hailed Super Eagles and Rangers striker, Cyriel Dessers, after his brilliant display in their UEFA Europa League clash on Thursday night.

Dessers opened the scoring in the 7th minute at the Ülker Stadyumu Fenerbahçe.

The 30-year-old then taunted the fans of the Turkish club by cupping his ears with his hands.

Dessers provided the assist for Rangers’ second goal and was also involved in the Gers’ third.

He was taken off in the 88th minute, after having done enough to impress Mourinho.

“Dessers is a good player, but today he looked like the best player in the world, but he is not,” Mourinho said in quotes revealed by Rangers Review.

The return leg will be played at the Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow next Thursday, with the Scottish side hoping to eliminate Fenerbahce.

Real Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, has given a detailed reason as to why he did not join Manchester United.

He said it was because of former Red Devils goalkeeper, David de Gea’s permanent transfer to Old Trafford in the summer of 2011.

The 32-year-old Courtois, has established himself as one of the best goalkeeper of his generation.

He was outstanding at Chelsea and had a stellar stints with the West Londoners, Atletico Madrid, and now Real Madrid.

He has won LaLiga for four times, the Premier League for two times, and a two-time UEFA Champions League winner.

In an interview with Manchester United great Rio Ferdinand, the Belgium international was asked why he never joined the Old Trafford side.

He said, “Well, they signed David, you know. So that helped me shape my path in a different way. At that moment, I was at Genk, starting to do something decent.”

The Belgian revealed that he had interests from Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and other top European clubs at that point.

The goalkeeper left Genk for Chelsea on a permanent deal in 2011.

“And obviously Chelsea at that moment had the best project for me on the long term,” he added, revealing why he decided to move to Stamford Bridge.

“And basically because David [De Gea] was going to Manchester, it opened the door for me to go on loan to Atletico [Madrid]. And basically, I think that transfer for me made me into the goalkeeper I am today,” he said.

Courtois’s current deal at Old Trafford will last till 2026. This season, he has registered 10 shutouts in 31 total appearances for Real Madrid.

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has claimed that “a bit of stupidity” could have cost the team a defeat against Manchester United on Sunday.

Rice rescued a point for the Gunners at Old Trafford after Bruno Fernandes had opened the scoring with a stunning free-kick.

Although David Raya’s positioning for Fernandes’ goal has been criticised in several quarters, the Spaniard produced a number of excellent saves to ensure Arsenal secured a point.

“I think in the first half we had some beautiful bits of play but lacked that clinical cutting edge.

“Then, in the second half, we did things we haven’t done all season. We were very naive in the last 10 minutes. We could easily have handed the game to Man United because they have that individual quality and threat.

“A bit of stupidity from us, but it was good to get back in the game and keep pushing.

“We had another chance with Martin at the end. It was an end-to-end game and probably a fair point in the end,” Rice told the media after the match.
