Blackwood Hall was a prestigious boarding school nestled deep in the English countryside. Its Gothic spires and turrets reached towards the sky like skeletal fingers, casting long, ominous shadows across the grounds. The school's history was steeped in tradition and excellence, but it was also whispered to be cursed. Students and staff alike would report strange occurrences: doors creaking open and shut, disembodied whispers in the dead of night, and ghostly apparitions flitting around the edges of perception. Ava Moreno, a shy and introverted student, had always been fascinated by the supernatural. She spent most of her free time researching the paranormal, and Blackwood Hall's dark history was like catnip to her. As soon as Ava arrived at Blackwood Hall, she knew something was off. The air seemed to vibrate with malevolent energy, and she could feel eyes watching her from the shadows. At first, Ava tried to brush off the strange occurrences as mere imagination, but soon, she began to experience terrifying events firsthand. She would wake up in the middle of the night to find her room freezing cold, despite the radiator being turned up to maximum. She would see shadowy figures darting around the corners of her vision, only to vanish when she turned to look. One night, Ava decided to investigate the strange happenings. She snuck out of her dormitory and made her way to the school's abandoned wing, rumored to be the epicenter of the paranormal activity. As she crept through the dusty, cobweb-filled corridors, Ava stumbled upon a hidden room. Inside, she found a series of ancient artifacts and relics, surrounded by strange symbols etched into the walls. Suddenly, Ava heard a faint whispering in her ear. It was a soft, raspy voice, speaking in a language she couldn't understand. The voice grew louder, more urgent, and Ava felt herself being drawn towards the artifacts. As she reached out to touch one of the relics, the whispering stopped. The room fell silent, except for the sound of Ava's own ragged breathing. And then, the lights went out. Ava was plunged into darkness, surrounded by an oppressive, suffocating presence. She stumbled through the darkness, desperate to escape, but the doors were sealed shut, trapping her inside. When the lights flickered back to life, Ava was gone. Her roommates reported that she had never returned to the dormitory that night, and a search party was sent out to scour the school grounds. Ava was never found, but some say that on certain nights, when the moon is full and the shadows are long, you can still hear her screams echoing through the abandoned wing of Blackwood Hall. ![]() |

It was a sunny day in Umuahia, the capital city of Abia State, when Eme and Ike first met. Eme, a beautiful young woman with a bright smile, had attended a party with her friends. Ike, a handsome young man with a charming personality, had also been invited to the party. As fate would have it, Eme and Ike bumped into each other while dancing. They exchanged apologies, and Ike couldn't help but notice how beautiful Eme looked. Eme, too, was struck by Ike's charming smile. They started talking, and before long, they discovered they had a lot in common. Both were from Abia State, and they shared a love for afang soup and highlife music. Ike was impressed by Eme's intelligence and wit, while Eme was charmed by Ike's sense of humor and confidence. As the night wore on, they found themselves lost in conversation. Ike asked Eme for her number, and to his delight, she agreed. They exchanged numbers, and Ike couldn't wait to call her the next day. Their first date was a walk along the banks of the Imo River. They talked for hours, sharing stories and laughter. Ike was smitten, and Eme felt the same way. As the days turned into weeks, their love continued to grow. They would take long drives through the countryside, visit local markets, and try out new restaurants. Ike loved Eme's cooking, and Eme loved Ike's singing. One day, Ike took Eme to the same river where they had their first date. He got down on one knee, pulled out a small box, and asked Eme to marry him. Eme was overwhelmed with emotion, but she managed to say yes. Their wedding was a beautiful celebration of their love, with friends and family from all over Abia State in attendance. They spent their honeymoon in a cozy little cottage in the hills, watching the sunset over the rolling hills. Years later, Ike and Eme are still going strong. They have two beautiful children, and they continue to live in Abia State, surrounded by the people and places they love. 2 1 ![]() |
