Politics / Trump Says He's Serious About 3rd Term Presidency (Photos)
by Shomek_ng    3 weeks ago |

🇺🇸 President Trump said Sunday he’s “not joking” about serving a possible third term, marking the second time in less than three weeks that he’s floated the idea. “I’m hearing — you don’t sound like you’re joking. I’ve heard you joke about this a number of times,” NBC News’s Kristen Welker said during a phone call with the president, discussing a third term for Trump. “No, no, I’m not joking,” Trump responded, according to NBC News. The president also said that he has “the highest poll numbers of any Republican for the last 100 years.” “We’re in the high 70s in many polls, in the real polls, and you see that. And, and you know, we’re very popular. And you know, a lot of people would like me to do that,” Trump said of a third term. “But, I mean, I basically tell them, we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration.” Trump previously floated the idea of running for a third term during a St. Patrick’s Day event on March 12 that featured House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.); Ireland’s leader, Taoiseach Micheál Martin; and other lawmakers. Trump is constitutionally restricted to two terms. When pressed on how he would make it into the White House a third time, Trump told Welker, “There are, there are methods which you could do it, as you know.” Welker then pitched him a hypothetical: “Well, let me throw out one where President Vance would run for office and then would, basically, if, if you — if he won, at the top of the ticket, would then pass the baton to you.” Trump replied, “Well, that’s one. But there are others, too. There are others.” He would not offer other examples. The president said that he enjoys “working” in his call with Welker after she stated that the presidency “is the toughest job there is,” according to NBC News. “Would you, would you — you wouldn’t want to pass the baton to Vice President Vance?” Welker asked Trump, to which Trump responded that “it’s too early … to even think about it.” credit: The Hill || New York Times 3 3 ![]() |

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to national unity and collective progress, declaring that “nobody is bigger than Nigeria, including myself as President.” He made this statement on Sunday while receiving a Sallah homage at the Presidential Villa in Abuja from a delegation of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) residents, led by FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike. Speaking on governance and leadership, Tinubu reiterated that power is a temporary trust from God, emphasising the importance of humility and service to the people. “I’m just a custodian of your trust. It is only Almighty Allah that gives power. He says, ‘If I give it to you, you must use it in the righteous way. You must be humane. You must follow my teachings.’” Reflecting on the just-concluded Ramadan fasting and the ongoing Lenten season, Tinubu emphasised the values of discipline, tolerance, and shared responsibility in building a prosperous nation. “We started with prayers. We end with prayers. We committed ourselves with discipline and faithful supplication, learning the teachings of Allah. Such discipline instills understanding, sharing, and partaking in family values that bring us together as one family,” he said. President Tinubu praised Minister Wike for his transformational leadership in the FCT, acknowledging his efforts in infrastructure development, civil service reforms, and urban renewal projects. “I must thank the Honourable Minister of the FCT. When we started, he came up with a lot of good ideas to liberate the bureaucracy and bring forward-looking, progressive thinking to the administration,” Tinubu stated. He specifically highlighted Wike’s role in resolving long-standing issues related to property rights, revitalising abandoned projects, and improving public services such as healthcare and education. “The health centres are being rehabilitated. The health facilities of the residents of the FCT are being upgraded. Our teachers at school are being rehabilitated, and buildings are furnished. Thank you, Wike,” he added. The President urged Nigerians to prioritise national unity over personal ambitions, calling on citizens to embrace peace, harmony, and inclusivity regardless of ethnic or religious differences. “We must continue to abide by the lessons of Ramadan. We must continue to share and remember the less privileged, the widows, and the have-nots, believing that we can share both in joy and in times of need. And we can believe that Nigeria is greater than any one of us – including myself as President,” he declared. Tinubu also highlighted Wike’s ability to work effectively in the heart of northern Nigeria despite being from the South, calling it a testament to the strength of Nigeria’s diversity. “Surprisingly, Nyesom Wike is not from the North. He’s from the southern part of Nigeria. And his ability to work in the centre of the northern part of Nigeria is bearing fruit. That is a very good reflection of our diversity that we must use for our prosperity,” Tinubu said. After the event, Minister Wike spoke with reporters, expressing gratitude for the President’s recognition of his work. When asked how he felt about being called “Mr. Infrastructure” by Tinubu, Wike responded, “I feel very happy that my boss has confidence in me. If your boss, in public, says that you are doing well, that is an encouragement for you to continue doing the job you’ve been assigned.” He assured FCT residents that his administration would continue executing transformative projects, promising that the next phase of development would be even more ambitious. “The committee is working, and you can be assured it can’t be less than what we did last time,” he stated. https://tribuneonlineng.com/nobody-is-bigger-than-nigeria-tinubu/ 5 3 ![]() |

Politics / I’ll Share Evidence Of Public Funds Theft Under Fubara – Rivers Ex-hos

Former Head of the Rivers State Civil Service, George Nwaeke, said he would provide evidence of public funds theft under the administration of suspended state governor Siminalayi Fubara to security operatives when called upon. This is as he accused the Fubara’s administration of misappropriation. Nwaeke stated this in a press briefing on Saturday, alleging that the theft of public funds under the suspended Rivers governor is mind-boggling. “I cannot also give all my evidence to the media, some are sensitive. I will give details to the proper authorities when required of me. “The level of stealing of public funds and assets witnessed in the last two years is mind-boggling. “I have never experienced it in the history of the state as we also had the highest allocation ever within this period,” Nwaeke said. Recall that on Friday, during a press conference in Abuja, Nwaeke claimed that Fubara directed Edison Ehie, his Chief of Staff, to burn down the Rivers House of Assembly. He alleged that he was at the government house when a bag of money was handed over to Edison for that operation, stating that he does not know the amount inside. Reacting to the claim, Fubara said the former Head of Service had been “compromised” and was being “coerced” to lie against him. https://dailypost.ng/2025/03/30/ill-share-evidence-of-public-funds-theft-under-fubara-rivers-ex-hos/ 5 3 ![]() |
